For new Library Build Requests that have a large number and/or a complex combination of resources, conducting a link review beforehand can (1) help the project manager identify issues that need to be addressed with the ID prior to build commencement, and (2) help streamline the build process and workflow for other members of the build team.

You do not have to worry about proper APA citations or formatting. The goal of a Link Review is simply to double-check the URL for each resource listed and replace any incorrect links with correct links where needed. External resources should have a corresponding Asana permission link to ascertain correct URLs, while the Linking to Database Content guide provides helpful instructions for how to get the correct permalink across our various databases.

Follow these steps to conduct a Link Review:

  1. Review the Link Review subtask Description field for the list of resources to review.
  2. Replace any incorrect links with the correct links.
  • Ensure that the correct database permalink is used according to database linking procedures.
  • Ensure that the Open Athens prefix (also known as the EBSCO widget) is applied where needed according to database linking procedures.
  • Ensure that external resources utilize the appropriate link per the corresponding Asana permission task.
    • If a corresponding Asana permission link is not shown for an external resource, please notify the project manager in the Link Review comments.
  • If desired, you can use strikethrough (XYZ) to cross items off within the Description field as you go. If you do this, please undo the strikethrough when done.
  1. Add your time in the Time Spent field.
  2. Mark your task Complete.
