Where can I search for literary works?

Are there full-text works of literature in the library?

There are a variety of full-text literary works across literary disciplines. Find plays, poetry, novels, short stories, speeches, essays, etc. in the following databases: 

  • ProQuest One Literature: Use the subject boxes over the main search box on the homepage to narrow your topic or select the Advanced Search link for more ways to narrow your results. You can also browse the topics on the page. After you select an area of interest, you can enter words and phrases to search for specific topics.
  • Gale Literature Resource Center: Explore topics by time period by selecting the Browse buttons on the page or search a variety of full-text works, including overviews, criticism, biographies, and reviews by entering words or phrases in the search box.
  • Literary Reference Plus: Explore literary journals, literary study guides, and reference works by entering words and phrases in the search box. Select the Advanced Search link to limit your search terms to specific areas like author or subject.
