(Alumni) Can I read a library e-book on my tablet /e-book reader / smartphone? Last Updated: Jun 16, 2020 Views: 27
It depends on the publisher. Some may allow for this functionality.
Here are several ways to find out:
- Look for a download link or icon on the e-book record page.
- Read the help documentation where you found the e-book to see if provides information about downloading to an e-reader or reading books offline.
There are also a couple of pieces of information you should check before downloading an e-book:
- Check to see what file format the e-book is in and whether or not that format is supported by your device. You may need to download additional software and/or create an account before you can read the e-book on your device.
- If you're using a smartphone, determine whether or not you need to install an app to read the e-book.
Note that some e-book formats are not compatible with all e-reader devices. Check the help documentation for the e-book provider to learn what e-readers can be used.
