Optimal due dates vary by situation and might even be adjusted as the task progresses. However, as noted on the SOP, LRR build due dates are usually about 7 days from when the request was received (or prior to the build date of the course). Edits needed for a live course are often 3-5 days, but this can extend to 7-10 days when content curation is needed. Here are some more tips when considering due dates:

  • Complete initial review before adjusting the parent task due date (if adjustment is needed). This could save having to additionally adjust the due date, since there may be issues with the request that will delay moving it along to build. Once you’ve verified the build is ready to be moved on, adjust dates accordingly, and let the ID know if you needed to push the date to allow for 1 week, library bandwidth, etc.
  • Assign out all subtasks (with the exception of Librarian Review) at once after you’ve completed the initial review and confirmed the build is finalized.
  • Due dates may need to change if there are issues with a build or other request type. For instance, if the IDs need help with research, permissions are pending, etc. It may be that just some of the subtask due dates need to be adjusted, or that both the subtasks and the parent task due dates be pushed out.
