All content included in a course should be entered in the Content: External Websites queue (via the Course Content section in the Asana course project), even if it is a copy of a course. This allows us to capture how many times content is being used and where. If we find that we have a significant number of links to a site, we may request written permission to avoid any copyright infringements that may result from using a large amount of the website's content.
Multiple links to a site can also tell us if we need to increase the library collection in a specific subject area. In addition, websites change their TOUs regularly, and content that was allowable in the past may no longer be used without written permission.
Finally, regularly reviewing website requests allows us to keep the database current and accurate.
