Culturegrams is a good place to start researching culture in other countries. To find it:

  1. Click the Research Databases icon on the homepage, then select the C from the alphabetical list.
  2. Select the Culturegrams link from the list.
  3. Use the Select a Region or Country drop-down menu to select your country.
  4. Various aspects of the culture are listed on the left side of the page.

Do you need to find more information on a specific cultural topic? Try one of our other databases, like ProQuest, using more specific terms.

Copy and paste the searches below into the search box, inserting the name of the country you're researching in place of the text in the parenthesis.

(name of your country) AND "business practices" AND communication

(name of your country) AND "business culture"

The quotation marks tell the database to search for the terms as a phrase.

World History in Context is also a great choice for researchers as it provides an overview of a topic and allows you to conduct in-depth research.

  • From the homepage, scroll down and select Countries, Cultures and Civilizations to find country reports.

Additional resources include Gale Diversity Studies when researching cultural differences, contributions, and influences in the global community.
